Elias Lindholm Scores First NHL Hat Trick

Elias Lindholm of the Carolina Hurricanes scored his first career NHL hat trick in March 8, 2015.  The Hurricanes played against the Edmonton Oilers, defeating them 7 – 4, for their first victory over Edmonton this season. Lindholm scored 3 goals and added 2 assists, for 5 points on the night, which is a career high and he only the fourth player this season to get 5 points in a game.

Lindholm has also reached career highs this season for games played at 63, goals at 14, assists at 18, and points at 32. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Oilers also scored a hat trick in a losing cause, making it the first time this NHL season where a player from each team scores a hat trick.
