Brian Elliot Breaks Franchise Record
Brian Elliott of the St. Louis Blues broke the the franchise record with his 21st shutout with the Blues on March 17, 2015. It was a big night for Elliott, as the shutout was pretty significant. It was his fifth shutout of the season, broke the franchise record for most shutouts, by any goalie, and it was also his 30th career NHL shutout. Elliott had just tied the record held by Jaroslav Halak two games earlier by shutting out the Philadelphi Flyers on March 12. He and Halak played together in St. Louis for 3 seasons, until Halak was traded to the Buffalo Sabres. Elliott has played 40 games this NHL season, and has 24 wins, 5 shutouts, a .922 save percentage, and a 2.11 goals-against average.
