Patrik Elias of the New Jersey Devils scored his 400th NHL goal on February 6, 2015. The Devils were up against the Toronto Maple Leafs and beat them by a score of 4 – 1, handing them their 11th consecutive loss. Elias scored his 7th goal this season in the second period, and it ended up being the game winner. Elias became the 91st player in NHL history to reach 400 goals, to add to his other recent career NHL milestones. Earlier this year,  on January 6, 2015, Elias hit the 600 assist and 1000 point plateaus on the same night.  He also only needs 3 more games to reach 1200 career NHL games played.

Elias is 38 years old and was drafted 51st overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils. He has a had a very long and productive career, all for the same team. In 1995-1996, he played only one NHL game, and followed it up the next season with 17 games. Since the 1997-1998 season, he has played 17 seasons with the Devils. In 1197 career NHL games, he has tallied 400 goals, 605 assists, for 1,005 points and also adds 529 penalty minutes.
